Cambria Herrera

   Director, Romeo and Juliet

Cambria Herrera holds a BA in Acting and Directing from George Fox University. Recent credits include: Peter/Wendy at Bag&Baggage (Tiger Lily), As One at Portland Opera (Assistant Director), The Little Mermaids Project at Enso Theatre Ensemble (Director and co-producer), Proof at Valley Repertory Theatre (Director), Balkan Women at George Fox University (Director) and Twelfth Night at George Fox University (Antonio). Their next project is directing and co-producing the circus show "Jaune, Jolty, Amarillo" with Red Baloon Theatre Collective this summer. They are also involved in the Portland community as the facilitator/co-founder of AGE's Women of Color in PDX Theatre Collective and a leadership committee volunteer for PDX Latinx Pride.

Garrett Gibbs

Paris, Romeo and Juliet / Actor, The Good Doctor

Garrett is more than ecstatic to begin working on the third season of Penguin Productions, as well as one of the most famous and incredible plays in the English language. After graduating from PCPA - Pacific Conservatory Theater, where he had the honor of directing several student conservatory projects including Red and Laundry and Bourbon, Garrett set out to fulfill his lifelong dream of forming a theater company. Now his dream has not only become a reality, but more and more exciting and fulfilling everyday. Garrett would like to give the most heartfelt thanks to his parents for the incredible support they have given him and Penguin as a whole and Stephanie for working with him to bring more theatre into this world.

Stephanie Spencer

Resident Artist

Mercutio,  Romeo and Juliet / Actor, The Good Doctor

Stephanie Spencer is over the moon to join Penguin Productions for Season 3! You may recognize her from previous shows as Jen in John & Jen, Ophelia in Hamlet, Mabel in An Ideal Husband, Orlando in As You Like It, or as Molly from Gallery Theater's production of Peter and the Starcatcher. A PCPA - Pacific Conservatory Theatre alumni, she is excited to dive into the summer as a resident artist. Many thanks to the creative team for the art, her family for their endless support, Garrett for being her better half, and Monte Ralstin for the song in her heart.

Brandon Vilanova

Romeo, Romeo and Juliet / Actor, The Good Doctor

Brandon holds an Associates in Acting from the Pacific Conservatory Theater Professional Acting Training Program. This is Brandon’s second show with Penguin having recently moved to Portland last August to play Hamlet. Other companies Brandon has worked for include the San Diego Repertory Theater, San Diego Old Globe Theater, Santa Maria Pacific Conservatory Theater, and Bag&Baggage. Other favorite roles include: Othello (as Iago); The Island in Winter/La Isla en Inveirno (as Florizel; The Good Soul of Sezchuan (as Shui Ta); and, of course, Hamlet (as Hamlet).

Olivia Anderson

Juliet, Romeo and Juliet

Olivia Anderson received her BA in Acting and Directing from George Fox University. She spent a year serving as an adjunct director at George Fox directing the University Players, a traveling, student storytelling-ensemble which tours original stories around the northwest. She is wrapping up a year with Bag&Baggage as a member of their Emerging Artists program and is currently pursuing her Masters in TV and Screenwriting at Stephens College. Olivia is delighted to appear in her first show with Penguin Productions and is honored to work with such a talented ensemble and artistic team!

Caleb Rusell

Benvolio, Romeo and Juliet

Caleb Russell recently returned to the Pacific Northwest from London where he received a first class BA Acting degree from Rose Bruford College. A writer as well, Caleb has a lot to say and is always looking for better ways to say it. Previous roles include Gratiano in The Merchant of Venice, Sgt. Trotter in The Mousetrap, and The Narrator in Dogville. He’s excited and grateful to Cambria and Penguin Productions for this chance try his hand at this classic Shakespearean tale.

Catherine Olson

Lady Capulet, Romeo and Juliet / Actor, The Good Doctor

Catherine Olson is thrilled to be back on the beautiful Penguin stage after appearing last Summer as Laertes (Hamlet) and Mrs. Marchmont (Ideal Husband). Catherine is a Newberg native, a graduate of Eastern Oregon University and the University of Oregon, and performs locally with Broadway Rose, Opera Theatre Oregon, Lakewood Theater, and Portland Opera. Favorite roles include Puck in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Clara in Light in the Piazza, Kathy in Singin’ in the Rain, and the title role in an operatic setting of The Little Prince. Love & thanks to Mom & Dad, who introduced her to fabulous outdoor theater, pretty much from day one, and to her beloveds: S,W,&A.

Tommy is excited to be back with Penguin Productions for their latest season, having worked in some of their previous shows of Macbeth as Banquo, and As You Like It as Adam.  He's happy to once again be a part of this wonderful group, and wishes to thank his friends and family for supporting him constantly.

Alanna Archibald

Nurse, Romeo and Juliet

Alanna Archibald is a founding member/Artistic Director of Red Balloon Theatre Collective (RBTC), as well as an actor, storyteller, dialect coach, and mover. Past roles include Performer/Deviser in THE WAYS WE COPE: a workshop (Shaking The Tree Theatre - Open Space Residency), ‘Girl’ in 4.48 Psychosis (RBTC), ‘The Witch’ (all three in one character) in Macbeth (Outer East Arthouse), ‘Zwigly’ in An Interlude In Birdsong (Rutabaga Story Co), ‘Laura’ in The Glass Menagerie (Valley Repertory Theatre), and more. She assists Third Rail Rep as an associate in various functions, such as acting as liaison with the Mentorship Cohort and Lit. Management.

Ashur Gharavi

Actor, The Good Doctor 

Ashur is a 2019 graduate of PCPA's Actor Training program, where he was the youngest in his class. Ashur is excited to be making his professional out-of-state debut with Penguin Productions! Recent credits include: Nol in Shakespeare in Love, Beethoven in Dog Sees God, Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, and Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. Ashur is also a voice actor with Librivox, and has been featured in their dramatic recordings of the books The String of Pearls and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Victoria Alvarez Chacon

Tybalt, Romeo and Juliet

Victoria Alvarez-Chacon, is elated to be playing with Penguin. You may have seen Victoria as Prospero in last Summers production of The Tempest with Oregon Adventure Theatre. She has also performed with August Wilsons Red Door Project. After four years of Chicago Theatre life, Victoria is very excited to be working in the North West. Thank you OAT for giving me a found Family, and Palmer Beach for putting up with all the Shakespeare.

Kayla Hanson

Princess, Romeo and Juliet

Kayla Hanson is an actor and interdisciplinary artist with a BA in Theatre Arts, emphasis on performance and film studies. She is the current managing director and a founding member of Red Balloon Theatre Collective and a member of Third Rail Repertory Theatre’s 2018/2019 Mentorship cohort. Recent roles include Mère-grand in ___the wolf at Shaking the Tree Theatre, Chase/Actor #6 in A Dark Sky Full of Stars at Theatre Vertigo, and Young Woman in Arlington: A Love Story with Third Rail Repertory Theatre. Kayla is thrilled to be making her Penguin Productions debut with Romeo and Juliet!

Amberly Orr

Ensemble, Romeo and Juliet

Amberly Orr holds a BA in Theatre from George Fox University. She is currently back in school earning her Masters in Teaching with a concentration in English and Theatre. She is excited to return to the stage after primarily focusing on teaching and directing. During the last couple of years she has had the opportunity to work for Northwest Children's Theatre, Valley Repertory Theatre, SFA, Voice for Voiceless, Stageworks Northwest, Icicle Creek, and C.S. Lewis Academy.

JeannAnn Faris

Assistant Director and Ensemble, Romeo and Juliet

JeanneAnn Faris is a director, actor, light designer, and stage manager. She just graduated from George Fox University with a BA in Theatre where she directed The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Living Out, and Falling. In Portland she assistant directed Uncle Vanya with Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble and Lungs with Third Rail Repertory Theatre. She is so thankful for the opportunity to be working with Penguin Productions alongside one of her greatest supporters and friends, Cambria. Special thanks also go to Brendan, Cora, Olivia, Gabi, her gracious God, and Billy Shakes, of course.

Linnaea Rusaw

Ensamble, Romeo and Juliet

Linnaea Rusaw is extremely excited to be making her Penguin Productions debut! Having just graduated from Newberg High School this year as a Thespian board member and an involved choir student, she plans to attend George Fox University in the fall to further her acting abilities. Her previous credits include The Addams Family (Wednesday Addams),Pride and Prejudice(Elizabeth Bennet),and A Midsummer Nights Dream(Helena).Her future goals include moving to LA or New York to pursue a career in film acting. She wants to thank her past directors who have helped her develop as an actress and person throughout the last couple of years.

Chloe Dawson

Stage Manager, Romeo and Juliet & The Good Doctor

Chloe Dawson (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be returning for another summer in Newberg! She has previously worked with Penguin Productions on An Ideal Husband and John & Jen as the stage manager/technical director. She has also staged managed with Oregon Children’s Theatre, Enlightened Theatrics, Sherwood Foundation for the Arts, and her alma mater, George Fox University. Chloe would like to thank her amazing parents and her wonderful roommate Maggie for their unending support. Gal 5:6.
